The Marathon Continues…

The fact that I’ve recorded so much music and haven’t released as much maybe it’s been more therapeutic than anything… at this point I know I’m somewhere close to if not past that 10,000 hour mark, I can see it in how I create, the way that I study other artists, pick up on certain things so quick, and just gaining a whole new passion for the creative process. I can honestly say after I found out about @nipseyhussle a few months ago I didn’t even wanna listen to music for awhile, not his, not even my own. I was hurt and lost…. I might still be idk… but I had to continue on my marathon. I feel like I’ve dedicated so much of my life to this journey, sacrificed, missed out on a lot, disconnected from the world pretty much. It’s bigger than music for me, but this has definitely been a driving force. Idk where or how I would be without it.

New Music: Sorry Not Sorry Freestyle

I’m heading back to the studio soon and I’m so excited. I found one of the best studios in Charlotte and I can’t wait to record and hear the finished product, and most importantly get it to the speakers of The Leaders!!! Until then check out this new freestyle I just recorded literally a few minutes ago (April 1st, 2016 @ 6:38pm) to Bryson Tiller’s Sorry Not Sorry track from his project Trapsoul.

New Music: Dreams Calling

Lately I’ve been listening to Future‘s new mixtape Purple Reign. I found the instrumental to one of my favorite songs from the project so I added some Rhymes to it haha… Check this out.

Progression: The Update

This entry is just a brief update on what’s been happening as of recently on my journey to Destiny. I’m realizing that it takes a lot to be successful, a lot of determination, a lot of patience, and a lot of sleepless nights to say the least. My passion has been driving me through this journey that includes roadblocks, mental distractions, and real life obstacles. My journey has also been filled with countless amazing studio sessions, new friends, enlightening moments, and blessings on blessings on blessings!!!

NoDa Yoga 2

Over the past 3 years I feel like I’ve been preparing myself, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Along the way I’ve learned so much about life and the industries that I will be diving head first into. I get more and more excited each day about the projects I am working on and the relationships that I have been building with new people.

After not releasing music for over a year, I’ve finally began releasing music that I’ve been holding on to for what seems like forever. Hopefully you’ve had a chance to listen to and download the two new songs that I’ve released (Throwback & Chef Curry). Throwback is a cover song from about 2 or 3 years ago to Usher’s song by the same name.

CHEF CURRY COVER ART2

Chef Curry is a dope track produced by my brother Ruby Rocx. The night we made that song was a great night. It was actually the last of 3 songs from that session. After completing the first 2 songs Ruby Rocx looked over at me and said, “bro I’m feeling like doing one more before we call it a night bro.” It was a weekday and we were both kinda tired, but feeding off of each other’s energy. In my mind there was no question and no hesitation. Not even 3 full seconds later I responded, “Let’s get it bro.” It felt like he made that beat in less than 20 minutes. Instead of recording the vocals for it after he was done, I transferred the beat to my laptop and headed home.

By the time I got home an hour or so later I was wide awake and full of inspiration. I began working on some other company things for a little while then up to my room to record the vocals for Chef Curry. By the time I finished recording, the sun had come up and social media was flooded with Thanksgiving posts. After emailing the completed song back to Ruby Rocx, He insisted that I release the song the same day.

These two songs are just the first of what’s to come and I can’t wait to share more, especially my first debut single that I won’t say the name to just yet, but will be released very soon. I’m watching a Bob Marley documentary at the moment, but I’m thinking about getting a quick nap in before the sun comes up since it’s already 4:33am now. More updates coming soon, Dream Big!!!
