Impossible Is A Lie.

Impossible Is A LieDear Leader,

Let’s start today off with some truth. Impossible is a lie. Someone BELIEVED a piece of metal weighing 75 tons could fly through the air carrying hundreds of people. Someone also BELIEVED a tiny audio device could wirelessly connect to a 2.5 x 4 inch digital mobile device and play your favorite music. What someone may have thought was impossible 1000 years ago is past possible today.

You are very much capable of doing the exact same things that one of your peers thinks is impossible, but do YOU BELIEVE it is possible is what truly matters. There are no limitations in this life we live except the limitations we believe in. Be great, young Leader, and Dream Big!!

Your Fellow Lifestyle Leader,

Ruff

Q&A w/ Jasmine Love

Ruff chops it up with Jasmine Love about the current state of Hip Hop, hometown love, and “Dreaming Big”. Read the article in its entirety here.

JL: Most would say hip hop died a long time ago. As an artist, what does that mean to you and how do you view the current state of the genre?

Ruff: It means I definitely have my work cut out for me. I’ve always viewed Hip Hop as a sport, but also as a learning tool. As an artist you have to be socially aware of what’s going on around you and around the world. You have to be passionate and authentic. I think Hip Hop is in a great place right now. It’s coming back to the art form.

JL: Unlike most of today’s rap artists, your music does not contain endless lines of artificial & materialistic lifestyles. Instead, your lyrics express dream, aspiration and passion. When you are behind the mic about to record a track, what is most important to you?

Ruff: My delivery. There’s a difference between what you say and how you say it, so the most important thing to me is getting my point across and making a connection.

JL: Your music is lyric intensive, raw and relatable. It can be very easy to compare you to artists like J. Cole, Lupe Fiasco and Wale…but your bio states that you don’t feel they define you as an artist. Define Ruff, the artist.

Ruff: Ruff is a dreamer, a believer, a painter of life… As an artist, I’ve come a long way. I may share some of the same qualities as these guys, but I have my own sound. I have my own vision.
